Foundation programme · Ages 10 to 17

Support that fits how your young athlete learns.

Prime Achievers is a foundation programme for parents of 10 to 17 year old athletes who want practical support for focus, emotions and confidence, on and off the field.

Pricing is shared once you register your interest.

Sound familiar?

  • A working mum checking her phone in the car outside training

You're doing your best while balancing work and your child's commitments.

  • Muddy football boots and ball left on a bench after training

Your child is trying hard, but the results aren't reflecting the effort.

  • A young footballer waiting nervously before a penalty

They know the game plan, but under pressure it falls apart.

  • A dad researching support at the kitchen table at night

You've tried support before and aren't sure what else to try.

This isn't about something being wrong with your child. It's about a learning gap that hasn't been met yet.

Not everyone learns the same way.

Many young athletes don't learn well in the conventional way used at school and in club sport. Prime Achievers uses visual, hands-on and audio learning so information is taken in and kept.

This programme isn't here to tell you what you're doing is wrong. It offers more information and an alternative approach, so you can take some pressure off and simply be a parent.

Six pillars, one clear plan.

Pyramid of six pillars from Performance at the top to Anxiety at the base, supported by Parent on the left, Coach on the right and Athlete at the base
  1. Anxiety

Understanding and easing worry before and during competition.

  2. Self-Regulation

    Managing reactions and energy.

  3. Emotional Regulation

Handling big feelings without being overwhelmed.

  4. Executive Functioning

Planning, focus and organising what you learn.

  5. Confidence

    Believing in your ability.

  6. Performance

    Executing skills in the game.

How the foundation programme works.

  1. Complete an initial questionnaire so we understand how your child learns.

  2. Complete short check-ins between each module, so they're ready to move on.

  3. Complete a final questionnaire at the end of the foundation programme.

  4. Receive a personalised pathway into the right next programme.

Everyone on the same page.

For the athlete

A section designed around how they learn, using edutainment: a really engaging and entertaining way of learning, with games and rewards along the way.

For parents

Support through every stage, so you can be a parent rather than managing their emotional journey.

For coaches and teachers

A short section to keep information open and transparent for everyone.

Is this for you?

This is likely a good fit if

  • You're open to feedback.
  • You're curious and ask questions.
  • You're ready to try a different approach.
  • You want your child to enjoy their sport and feel in control.

This may not be the right time if

  • You feel certain you already have every answer.
  • You're not ready to look at things differently yet.

That's okay. Come back when you're ready.

Who's behind Prime Achievers.

Prime Achievers brings together mental performance coaching and paediatric occupational therapy, so your young athlete is supported in how they think, feel and learn.

Prime Mind Coaching

Dan Rixon

Mindset and performance coach who helps athletes perform under pressure, not just in practice. Dan spent 17 years as a school teacher, including support units and the PDHPE curriculum, and has coached high-performance cricket programmes.

He works with athletes across every sport and level, plus sporting associations, clubs and corporate clients including Rugby Australia and ASX-listed companies. His coaching builds confidence, focus, resilience and growth, drawn from real experience rather than textbook theory.

Little Achievers Occupational Therapy

Corinne Rixon and Sam Robertson

Directors of a family-run paediatric occupational therapy team, supporting children and teens across the St George and Sutherland Shire areas since 2011.

Their approach is evidence-based and neuroaffirming, recognising every child's strengths, interests and unique ways of learning. They work with schools, educators and health professionals so everyone works towards the same goals, with practical strategies in plain language that fit everyday family life.

What parents say.

Game changing. Every session they leave with greater clarity, feeling supported and cared for, while still feeling empowered and challenged.

Always great reports, and we're excited to put the tools into practice. The check-ins show us what's working and what to try next, so nothing gets lost between sessions. Our coach now hears the same language we use at home, and our son has started asking to use the strategies himself.

Every session my child learns something, and I keep learning too. This has been life changing, and I'm so grateful we met.
